Solar Montana was established in the spring of 2005 by Jackson Isbell, the owner/operator. Since then, Solar Montana has installed and serviced over 500 alternative energy systems in Helena and the surrounding area. We pride ourselves in providing a thorough and intimate installation service for every system we install.
Jackson Isbell’s Qualifications:
Kyle’s interest in renewable energy started with building a cabin just outside of Helena that is completely off the grid with solar power and rainwater harvesting. Before coming to Solar Montana, his work experience involved carpentry, construction management, and house design. He started working with Solar Montana in 2011, and has designed and installed hundreds of solar arrays. In 2016, he build a fully solar powered house where he now lives full time. Outside of work his interests include rock climbing, backcountry skiing, and architecture.
Mark Whitman joined us part time in 2015. He has a 20 year background in sustainable building and landscape design/construction and has been doing residential and commercial PV solar projects since 2005 ranging in size from 1.5kW to 100 kW systems. He and his family moved to Helena in 2013 after spending 10 years living off grid in a yurt in the Colorado mountains. When not working you can find him outside with his family hiking, backpacking, skiing or biking.
